RICHARDSON, Texas – Tyler McKinzie of the Cameron baseball team has been named Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week on Tuesday by league officials.

McKinzie had eight hits, with three doubles, and a homer in a 4-0 week for the Aggies.  The senior had two three-hit games and three two-RBI games against William Jewell. 

On Saturday in game one against the Cardinals, McKinzie had three hits and three runs scored, with two doubles in a 16-7 blowout.  Later in the nightcap, he homered and had a double in an 11-1 win. 

On the field, he recorded 11 assists with six putouts at short for the Aggies.

Additionally, with an 11-0 start the season the Aggies have appeared in the national polls coming at number-26 in the latest release of by Collegiate Baseball.  The Aggies will be off until March 4-6 where they will open Lone Star Conference play at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
