Cameron moves to 7-1 with 101-33 win over Dallas Christian

Box Score LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron's hot start continued as they dominated Dallas Christian 101-33 from start to finish at the Aggie Gym on Saturday afternoon.

This was first time since the 2009 season that the Aggies hit triple digits and lowest point total held in two years. Additionally, Cameron victory sends the women's basketball team to 7-1 to start the year as they continue to have their best start in over a decade.

"As a coach you worry because we had a ten day layoff...but the nice thing was that we had some fresh legs and you could tell that they were ready to play basketball again," said head coach Tom Webb.

Cameron controlled the game from the opening tip and held Dallas Christian scoreless for the first six minutes. In the meantime CU opened with 22 unanswered points; Lacy Reinke was already in double-figures nailing 11 points. The hot shooting went across the board with 10 Aggies contributing on the scoreboard and hitting 62.9% of their shots from the field.

CU fell short of a program high for points at the half by six but would lead 56-13 at the intermission.

In the second half Cameron received quality minutes from Christina Caddy and Markita Zeigler. In nine minutes Caddy tacked on 10 points and pulled down five boards; Zeigler grabbed seven rebounds and had six points in 11 minutes of action.

"We are really pleased with Markita right now, she did a good job when DJ (Valler) went down and stepped it up in Colorado," add Webb. "In the last couple of games she played some really important minutes and just needs to continue to grow as a player.

Cameron got double-figure nights from five different players with Reinke and Chelsea Stamp leading the way with 15 points; Reinke went a perfect seven for seven from the field and had three blocks.

Ali Brown added 14 points, she was a perfect from the field; Caddy and Jade Herl scored 12 each respectively.

"The nice thing with Lacy and all of our seniors is that they are acting like seniors," said Webb. "You need seniors to be consistent and she (Lacy) is doing that and that's what makes our seniors special. All our seniors are being consistent. Ali (Brown) had a good game, Chelsea (Stamp) had a good game, and Caddy had a good game."

Each Aggie player suited played at least 15 minutes and as a team they out-rebounded Dallas Christian 51 to 23.

Cameron will return to action on Friday, Dec. 20 with the first trip outside of the lower 48 states for games at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
