June 29, 2012| Lawton, Okla. – Former Aggie men’s basketball player Vinicius Telo has
signed with Romaco Joinville in the National Basketball League in
Brazil. “Telo had a great career at Cameron in his three years with us and he was able to get his degree,” said head coach Wade Alexander. “We wish that he didn’t get hurt last year and had his career end on that note but we had a great time having Telo with us.” A native of São Paulo, Brazil, Telo played in 38 games during his career with Cameron compiling 509 points, 181 rebounds, 52 assists, 26 blocks, and 21 steals. Additionally, he was the second highest scorer in the last two seasons (10/11 and 11/12) averaging over 13 points per game. Last season against Angelo State, Telo had a career night at Aggie Gymnasium scoring 30 points, with eight rebounds, and five blocks. He also started in eight games before missing the middle part of the season due to an injury. After two months of rehab, Telo was able to come back off the bench in the in the final games of the regular season and in the 2012 Lone Star Conference Tournament at the Allen Events Center in Allen, Texas. Telo is most remembered for his performance at the 2011 LSC Tournament in Bartlesville, Okla. vs. West Texas A&M scoring 26 points. “He (Telo) was starting to figure things out on the court and some of those performances where Telo dominated match-up we saw some really great games by him,” said Alexander.
