Thomas PeixotoPeixoto and Dilks earn LSC Scholar-Athlete awards
June 13, 2012 Lawton, Okla. - Cameron's Thomas Peixoto and Carrie Dilks were honored with the 2011-12 Lone Star Conference Scholar-Athlete award by league officials.Twenty awards were given to student-athletes in the LSC. The student-athletes are selected as representatives of the outstanding accomplishments in athletics, scholarship and leadership. To be eligible for consideration student-athletes must have participated in at least two years in their sport and must have exhausted their athletic eligibility.
| Peixoto completed his four-year Aggie career this season ranked No. 23
in the country. The Agriculture major had an outstanding year at the No.
1 position. He collected winning records in both singles and doubles
play and led the team to its 19th consecutive winning season and a No.
19 national ranking. Hailing from Campo Grande, Brazil, Peixoto has
already picked up a number of accolades from the Lone Star Conference
for the 2011-2012 season. He was named the LSC Men’s Tennis Academic
Player of the Year and recognized as an All-Conference athlete.
Dilks, a senior on the softball team was named to the Lone Star Conference Academic All-Conference Team for a third consecutive year and has had a major impact on Cameron, as well as the LSC. Dilks a native of Burkburnett, Texas, been a gamer since stepping foot on CU’s campus and has shattered a number of pitching records at the school, including career strikeouts and complete games. | ![]() Carrie Dilks |
