Chase Larsson and Ricky Cramer Named LSC Baseball Players of the Week

LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron Aggies (23-11, 16-85 LSC) junior outfielder Chase Larsson and senior righthander Ricky Cramer were named the Lone Star Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, by conference officials on Tuesday.

It is the second time this season the Aggies have garnered both awards in the same week. They have had a hitter named to the list four times and a pitcher twice.

Larsson had a recording setting week as he tied one school and conference record and broke another en route to expanding his lead for the most home runs in the nation.

The Vancouver native tied a school record with eight RBIs in a single game and matched a school and conference record with three home runs in one contest over the weekend against East Central. With his second homer on the game, Larsson tied Nate Arevalo’s 2009 record of 20 homers in a season and his third broke it.

He also produced a massive average at the plate for the Aggies, going 8-of-10 (.800) with a whopping 2.100 slugging percentage. His 14 RBIs on the weekend also put him in a tie with teammate Kenny Held as the nation’s best run producers.

The Aggies swept the Tigers in the three-game series by run ruling them in each game.

Cramer (5-2) earned the nod as one of two winners for the pitcher award for his no-hitter on Friday in the series opener.

He worked seven complete innings of no-hit baseball to lead the Aggies to an 11-0 victory over East Central.

The Stillwater native walked four and struck out five batters en route to throwing just the second no-hitter under Head Coach Todd Holland. His defense committed one error in the first frame but helped him to the tune of nine fly-outs and four ground-outs to get the no-no.

Texas A&M Kingsville’s Julian Duran and Southeastern’s Heath Wyatt also earned player of the week accolades.

Both Larsson and Cramer will return to the diamond on Friday as the Aggies host conference foe Southeastern Oklahoma in a three-game series beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 15. The Aggies are currently No. 4 in the LSC standings while SE is No. 2.
